TAP Air Portugal - The Official Carrier of the Event

TAP Air Portugal has agreed to offer a discount to the participants who make their flight booking and buy their tickets exclusively through TAP Air Portugal’s website: www.flytap.com.

Discounts will be up to 10% on economy class airfares and up to 15% on business class airfares. Participants will have flexibility in choosing travel dates and times, with a travel window of 10 days before and after the event date. The code given to this event must be mentioned when making the booking in order to benefit from the discount.

How to get to Cascais

Cascais is served by Lisbon International Airport, located about 30 kilometres (19 miles) away. All major international airlines are represented here. Information can also be obtained on flights, ticket reservations and taxis.

To reach Cascais from Lisbon airport, you may do so in a Green Way, using public transport, or in a Not So Green Way, by taxi or car, being able to request your rental available through several companies in the market.

Green Way – using public transports (Airport – Cais do Sodré Train Station – Estoril/Cascais) – average time: 2 hours

Without leaving the airport you can reach Cais do Sodré by Metro (underground) or Aero Bus, and from Cais do Sodré take the Train to Cascais.

  • Metro (Airport – Cais do Sodré)

The Airport Metro Station operates from 6:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. (next day). From the airport, take the Red line. At Alameda station, change to the Green line, direction Cais do Sodré. The journey between Lisbon Airport and Cais do Sodré railway station (train to Cascais) takes about 40 minutes.

Tickets: around 1,50€ + 0,50€ for the travel card (Viva Viagem card).

  • Aero Bus Shuttle (Airport – Cais do Sodré)

Alternatively, you can take the Aero Bus: Line 1 – City Center

7:30 a.m.11:00 p.m. – daily departures every 20 minutes. Direct connection to both airport terminals (Terminal 1 and 2). 

Aero Bus takes around 40 minutes to Cais do Sodré (depending on traffic).

Tickets: 3,60€. Purchase your ticket from the driver.

  • BUS – After 11:30 p.m.

Carris BUS Nº 208:  Oriente Metro Station – Airport – Cais do Sodré (train station) – from 11:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Ticket: 2.00€. Purchase your ticket from the driver.

  • Train (Cais do Sodré – Estoril/Cascais)

From Cais do Sodré, there’s a regular train service operated by CP (Comboios de Portugal) directly to Estoril and Cascais. The service works from 5:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. (next day).

It is an extremely pleasant 35 minutes journey along the coastline, with views of several monuments and the 25th April bridge as you leave Lisbon behind. Tickets can be purchased from either the ticket office or the green machines (which accept coins, notes and credit cards).

Ticket: 2,25€. Tickets must be validated at the yellow machines or turnstiles before boarding the train. You should take the train that displays Cascais (terminus).

All the hotels are not too far from a stop in this train line.

The Congress Center is 5 minutes’ walk from Estoril Train Station.

Not So Green Way 
  • By Taxi or Uber

Outside Lisbon Airport there are many Taxis available to take you to Cais do Sodré Train Station. Alternatively, you can use Uber services or other similar online platforms.

If you prefer to go directly to Estoril or Cascais by taxi, with luggage, it should cost you between 40 and 50 euros. Be sure to ask for a receipt.

  • By Car

Take the A5 (this route has tolls) from Lisbon to Cascais. To go to Estoril, take exit 9 toward N6-8/Estoril/Alcoitão. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Av. Condes de Barcelona/N6-8. At Praça Condes de Barcelona, take the 2nd exit onto Av. Dom Nuno Álvares Pereira and turn left onto Av. Portugal. You’ll arrive at Estoril Congress Center.

If you want the most glamorous ride, take Av. Marginal, along the coastline.
